How to launch, and is it too early to launch your product?
In the past week, I have been lucky enough to record the first episode of the Reverse Podcast.
In the first episode, we will explore the launch of the first product.
Donna is a new product manager in a startup tackling vulnerabilities and securities issues for companies. She is currently working on a new product and wanted some advice on the release of this product.
The question was around the fact that part of the experience was missing. There was no proper "hook", and there were known limitations. Yet, she believed she could get initial feedback from friends and colleagues. She wanted my advice on the worthiness of launching an alpha of the product, possibly a v2 and then a beta.
The dilemma she faced was knowing if she needed to wait for the bugs to be fixed and for the whole experience to be available.
As product managers, we often face the problem of striving for perfection. We don't want to release too soon as we see the lack of quality in our product.
However, launching products gradually is something that can be beneficial.
During this podcast, we talk about the potential launch and the different avenues at her disposal.
I hope you enjoy it.
